First
& Second Line Classification
1st line #
2nd line cutter line
The
first line number of Great Basin arts classification defines time
period. The second line number defines culture name. (For subheading,
use Cutter number of heading unless indicated otherwise. Paiute
groups and Shoshone groups have each been combined. Following the
example of Northwest Coast cataloging, regional groups and subgroups
will be cited, when known, in the descriptive portion of the label,
but not reflected in the Cutter line.)
